Most people go with one of the traditional Twitter backgrounds – and again, that’s fine for personal accounts. But if you’re trying to build a brand — for yourself, or for a company — make your own Twitter background. It’s easy to create in any photo-editing tool, like Paint for PC users, not to mention countless online resources.

Start with a recommended canvas size of 1600 pixels by 1200 pixels, organizing important information on the left-hand side so users can easily view it while scrolling through your tweets. Show links to your Facebook page, email address, or LinkedIn profile. Your followers won’t be able to actually click on these links, but they’ll know that they can connect with you elsewhere. Consider advertising company products or adding more about your business if the bio space on Twitter doesn’t cut it. Make sure to place your corporate logo (or personal picture) prominently on the page as well, along with any other related content.
