A day after he entered the world of Twitter, Bill Gates is weighing in with his first personal blog.

The Gates Notes, which just launched, is an online forum where several times a week the Microsoft co-founder plans to shares his thoughts on the Gates Foundation and his personal interests in energy and the environment.

A good chunk of the blog is culled from thought leaders in fields such as global health, education, energy and the climate. His site is a collection of conversations, books, articles and opinions from people who have inspired and informed Bill, says Larry Cohen, a spokesman for Gates.

The blog is an extension to Gates’s annual letter, where he discusses what he’s learned and read over the last year. It comes out Jan. 25.
